I am Alison Haasch. I began my work with mothers and mothers-to-be in 1997, when I became a childbirth educator trained through the Bradley Method and then taught independently. Also in that year, I became a peer counselor for the WIC breastfeeding support and education program.
In 2000, I took the next step and became a DONA trained doula and have worked as a doula since that time. The joy of witnessing a family welcoming a new baby further spurred me on to take the next step.
In 2005, I became an apprenticing student midwife and studied first with Pamela Qualls, LM and later Susan DiSilvestro, CPM. My training was very thorough, providing me with valuable, hands-on experience for three and a half years. Additionally, I have studied a midwifery curriculum and have passed the NARM and the midwifery licensing tests required by the state of Arizona.
Also, I have been blessed with six children, three of whom were born at home. They currently range in age from teens down to a preschooler. The birth and babyhood of each of my children have taught me valuable lessons, both as a mother and as a midwife.
